Job Summary: The Director of Finance will serve as a key financial partner to the Co-CEOs and management team providing a strong analytical framework and business judgment necessary to support the company’s growth. He/she will lead the budgeting, accounting, financial forecasting, and analysis of financial data of the company in support of executive directives. The Director of Finance will also manage and oversee the logistics department, including warehousing, shipping, and quality control to maintain corporate standards.
Essential Functions:
- Broad financial responsibilities will include financial reporting, budgeting, short- and long-range financial planning, and cash flow management. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts. Ensure financial reporting and forecasting is timely, precise, and accurate
- Partner with the Co-CEOs and management team across the business to measure and drive operational efficiencies and best practices, prepare forecasts and key performance metrics, gather and interpret financial data, and develop financial projections
- Defines and implements critical performance indicators and strategies; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team. Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support the achievement of objectives and required standards
- Prepare and present to Co-CEOs monthly financial status analysis, including reasons for variances, anticipated issues/opportunities, and strategic and tactical recommendations for addressing problems/opportunities
- Lead inventory forecasting, providing analysis and insights on inventory management and key buying patterns
- Provides strong leadership and mentorship to the finance and logistic support teams, assuring the development of needed technical skills, effective performance management, work allocation, organizational structure & cost, succession capabilities, and morale
- Ensure the finance and logistics organizations have a high level of performance and productivity
- Works collaboratively with different groups across the business and, in conjunction with product development and management, creates projections and budgets for new products and services
- Prepare internal and external financial statements. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS)
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all finance operations functions.
- Works with critical third parties for financial reporting and company performance assessment, including external auditors, bankers, investors, and lenders
- Providing management with real-time information vital to decision-making processes that may be affected by information seen or generated in the Finance Operations department
- Ownership of Netsuite as it relates to its performance, set-up, and usage
- Assessing current finance operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Evaluating and improving accounting and internal control systems
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled finance staff
Education and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in finance, with a proven track record of success as a senior finance executive
- Significant understanding and experience in a Saas environment
- 5+ Years maintaining full ownership of the company’s P/L and Forecasting Modeling responsibilities
- Previous Position as a Controller required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; MBA preferred
- Certified Public Accountant status is highly desired
- 5+ Years experience of working with Netsuite
- 2+ Years experience fully managing an organization’s Netsuite installation
- Effective and persuasive communicator – both written and oral – with a track record of engagement with multiple and diverse stakeholders
- Adept at managing conflict and competing agendas
- Effective teaching and mentoring skills
- 2+ Years of experience with physical product inventory forecasting and controls is preferred
- 2+ Years of experience working closely with Warehouse/Logistic Teams to meet sales and fulfillment goals

- Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices and requirements with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Strong operational, hands-on finance experience is critical. A willingness to roll up his/her sleeves and have exceptional analytical skills
- Adaptable and resilient, adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Effectively manages through complexity and change
- Hands-on, involved executive with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capability to develop and motivate teams
- Ability to balance functional experience with an entrepreneurial attitude, high energy and a track record of successful problem solving
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Pay: $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
