Summary
Hi-Way Paving is seeking an experienced, hands-on Foreman to join our team. The individual in this position will manage the preparation and execution of slipform and fixed form paving operations and the construction of finished pavements meeting stringent FAA, USACE, and various state DOT specifications. The Foreman not only completes operational tasks, but also supervises a crew of operators and laborers, oversees equipment, meets production goals, and manages schedule requirements. This person will work with Hi-Way’s job-site leadership daily to review procedures, plans, and results.
This position is currently located in Charlotte, NC but may require future travel - up to 100% - to various job site locations (Raleigh, NC, Nashville, TN, and other, future project cities TBD.).
Responsibilities
- Inspect the condition of grade, forms, and steel placement for compliance with specifications prior to concrete placements.
- Perform or assist with set up of slipform paving equipment.
- Coordinate slipform paving operations using GOMACO paving equipment using stringless technology.
- Coordinate and implement fixed form paving operations.
- Monitor all placement, finishing, and curing operations for specification compliance.
- Direct and communicate with crew members and project managers to ensure high quality pavements.
- Designate worker responsibilities and schedules as well as assist in coordinating the delivery of equipment and materials.
- Perform and report time and cost coding for all supervised/managed employees.
- Monitor and help enforce safety rules and practices from all governing authorities and site-specific plans.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience as a construction/paving foreman or related construction job-site management experience, preferred.
- Experience with GOMACO paving equipment, preferred.
- Enhanced training or certifications in safety and/or OSHA regulations, preferred.
- High degree of focus and attention to detail.
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to travel overnight to job sites up to 100% of the time.
- Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
