This is a fixed position located at the Warren Township Wastewater Treatment Facility. The operator is an independent well-organized self-starter able to manage his/her own time to complete assigned tasks in their given allotted time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as PH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine, etc., in order to monitor system performance.

Perform general preventative maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as blower oil, filter and belt changes pulling and inspecting submersible pumps, etc.

Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operations.

Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenance.

Assist to prepare monthly written operating report based on facility’s operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as required.

Inform Project Manager in a timely manner of plant problems, upsets, plant expansion, repairs, etc.
-
Work conscientiously, adhere to EH&S policies and processes, and be aware of safety hazards.

Participate in 24-hour on call rotation.

Be prepared to discuss in a professional manner the plant operations with employer, client, visitors, or regulatory personnel.

Collect required samples, log in samples correctly and accurately, and submit samples to laboratory and review results to ensure permit compliance.

Operate plants to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilities.

Assist maintenance personnel with removal of pump, blower, motor, valve, etc.

Maintain accurate records for gasoline, mileage, timesheets, expenses, etc.

Work scheduled weekends and occasional holidays for assigned plants.

Display a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc.
-
Confined Space Entry – this may be required on occasion after thorough training provided by NSU.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be 21 years of age or older with 1 year of wastewater experience, preferred
-
40 hour work week: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30 pm (30 minute lunch)

Must be available to work weekends and holidays as requested

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

Valid Driver’s License.

NJ S-1 or Higher Wastewater license a plus.
