Job Title: Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Clinical Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW
Hours: 20-40 hours / week, non-exempt
Salary: $31.00 - $37.00 / hour depending on experience and certification
Reports to: Clinical Director
Located: Salinas, CA and Remote Hybrid Schedule
Overview
Reporting to the Clinical Director, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Clinical Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW provides individual and group counseling to victims and survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse and their significant others.
The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Associate Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW conveys empathy, respect, and compassion during therapy sessions and in any interactions with clients and the public. The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Associate Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW is a member of a high-performing team that supports survivors and significant others through case coordination, case management, Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) response, survivor accompaniment to court and law enforcement interviews and legal advocacy, and individual and group therapy. The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Associate Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW must effectively communicate survivor needs and/or any requests by community partners to the Crisis Intervention Team.
The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/Associatel Social Worker or LMFT/LCSW must respond effectively, timely, calmly, and with empathy and compassion to survivors of sexual violence and significant others in therapy sessions and ongoing case management in close partnership with the Crisis Intervention Team.
Major Functions
- Serve as primary provider of individual and/or group psychotherapy for survivors of sexual violence, their significant others and/or children who have experienced trauma
- Participate in supervision within the guidelines of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Complete required continuing education units (for licensed therapists), within the guidelines of California Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Complete required clinical documentation, including comprehensive client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within required agency timeframe and guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the Crisis Intervention Team to provide support to clients outside of therapy sessions
- Respond to requests for records verification of counseling and Subpoenas for the MCRCC office
- Enter case information into client management software
- Collect and maintain statistics regarding individual cases
- Assist in conducting client satisfaction surveys
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and sensitive information
- Perform agency and program administrative and operational tasks, as needed
- Uphold and adhere to the policies and bylaws of the organization
- Remain current with news, new legislation, reporting laws, child abuse and sexual violence research in general
- Report regularly to the Clinical Director and otherwise to insure that s/he is fully informed of all program activities
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Deputy Director/Clinical Director
Major Qualifications
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of medical or religious exemption for COVID-19 required
- Registered/licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Bilingual and bi-literate Spanish-English skills required
- Must have completed or be willing to complete 47+ hour training to earn the California State Sexual Assault Counselor certification (Training will be provided)
- Passion for the agency’s mission of ending sexual violence and support for survivors
- Familiarity with Monterey County and community resources available to clients
- High proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs
- Knowledge of a working non-profit organization, grant programs and services offered
- Experience in providing psychotherapy to children
- Knowledgeable about the dynamics of child abuse
- Understanding of mandated reporting requirements
- Understanding of child abuse and sexual assault, and commitment to ending sexual violence
- Strong organizational development, management and planning skills
- Commitment toward timeliness in all responsibilities
- High level of honesty, integrity and thorough understanding of confidentiality issues relating to client and personnel matters
- Ability and willingness to work with people of diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, political backgrounds and sexual identities
- Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds, climb stairs and sit for the duration counseling sessions
- Valid driver's license, current auto insurance and registration, and dependable vehicle are required

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to establish rapport with diverse audiences, and be sensitive to diverse groups
- Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks

- Criminal background clearance through the Department of Justice
