SOUND GOOD? GREAT. HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
As a Senior Liability-Auto-Property Claims Adjuster, you will have the opportunity to provide prompt and thorough investigations of moderate to complex General Liability, Auto Liability and Professional Lines claims – including Law Enforcement, Public Officials and School Leaders Liability. In this position, you will establish and document the material facts for each claim assignment in alignment with appropriate claim handling procedures. In addition, you will need to make timely and reasonable determination of coverage, including drafting appropriate coverage letters to CIRMA’s members. Further, you will be required to assess liability using applicable statutory legal defenses and immunities. In this position, you will appropriately deny and defend all claims for which CIRMA’s member insured is not liable, and to evaluate and expeditiously resolve those claims for which liability is probable in an equitable manner. You will also work collaboratively with legal counsel to direct litigation.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING SKILLS TO THE TABLE:
· Prior knowledge of general liability, property damage, bodily injury and professional lines insurance coverages.
· Ability to handle a fast-paced and ever-changing claim volume of approximately 150 cases.
· Knowledge of federal and state court processes and procedures.
· Ability to effectively negotiate claims resulting in a cost-effective resolution.
· Participation in claim reviews, settlement conferences and mediations.
· Ability to present claims at internal roundtable discussions and Advisory Committee meetings.
· Strong time management skills and timely responses to external communications (phone/email).
· Public entity claims handling experience is a plus.
YOU’LL ALSO NEED THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:
· 7+ years of claims handling experience. College degree or equivalent practical experience.
· Excellent oral and written communication and decision-making skills.
· A desire to work collaboratively in cross functional teams.
· College degree or equivalent practical experience.
