We are seeking a part time (15 hrs. weekly) Youth and Family Services Coordinator for Tillamook, Oregon available to work during weekdays between the hours of 9-5. This job is temporary with the option for expanded hours in the future. The Youth and Family Services Coordinator facilitates the Healthy Homes Resident Services program for low-income households that includes a variety of on-site activities that includes afterschool programs, recreational activities, health and nutrition resources, computer classes, social events, and financial supports to improve quality of life and build household stability and resiliency.
As a Youth and Family Services Coordinator, you are a key team member of a statewide network of services providers who provide programs that enrich the lives of low-income children, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. An ideal candidate for this position would be a self-starter who is outgoing, enthusiastic, well organized, able to multi-task, thrives in an independent environment, and has a heart for their community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- This person must be available to run programs between the hours of 10-5 on selected days.
- Assess needs of individual residents to provide information and referrals to outside agencies for resources including rental assistance, employment assistance, and information on how to access additional programs within the specified region.
- Oversee a variety of youth programs that promote after school and summer youth activities including Homework Helpers and Kids in the Kitchen.
- Assess the needs of the whole property to plan, organize, and implement on-site events which focus on food and nutrition, youth development, health and wellness, financial stability, and community building.
- · Host community building events throughout the year to help to build cohesion between residents.
- Enlist residents’ support and participation with program planning and activities and provide a welcoming and inviting atmosphere to all residents.
- Maintain regular office hours and work closely with collaborative partners, staff, and on-site management to schedule and coordinate events.
- Work with residents and staff to find solutions to financial and behavioral problems that if not resolved, would jeopardize the resident’s continued housing.
- Distribute monthly resident newsletters and flyers to promote activities and encourage program participation and updating bulletin boards to display public resources and useful resident information.
- Complete tracking and reporting for all programs to capture an accurate record of participation.
- Maintain knowledge of Oregon Fair Housing laws and industry standards of confidentiality. Utilize this knowledge in daily practice.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Qualification Requirements

- Self-motivated, highly organized, and ability to prioritize work assignments and handle concurrent deadlines.
- Experience and/or background working with low‐income individuals, seniors, people with disabilities and/or behavioral health challenges and needs.
- Reliable vehicle and ability to lift 30 pounds
Education and/or Experience
- Associates degree or 1-2 years similar job experience.
- Certified Peer Support Specialists are encouraged to apply.
- Additional compensation for applicants who are bilingual and/or fluent in other languages.
- Experience working with school age children, knowledge of child development, ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with children and plan age-appropriate activities
