Special Needs School -- Clinical Director Position
A new state accredited private special needs school for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is opening in the Northern Virginia portion of the Washington metropolitan area (or western Fairfax County). Its sister schools in New York, Washington and Connecticut are among the best 1:1 ABA schools in the country. This new one is looking to hire a full-time Clinical Director for its launch in June/July 2024.
The Clinical Director would run the ABA programing and its integration into all aspects of our school’s multidisciplinary academic platform. He/she would: train and oversee all Registered Behavioral Technicians (“BTs”) and paraeducators in basic ABA principles; be responsible for getting paraeducators and instructional assistants certified as BTs over time; supervise other BCBAs; manage the creation and implementation of BIPs for our students; oversee all behavior interventions for those students who have behaviors. Note, we do not use aversive reinforcements nor do we have or employ the use of restraint and seclusion rooms at any of our programs. The Clinical Director also coordinates with our school’s related services team in order to carry over the behavioral component of each student’s programming to other disciplines. In addition, the Clinical Director will coordinate with parents on training in the home as well as home ABA services we offer. He/she will report directly to the Head of School and must be willing to work directly with students and staff.
Required Degrees/Certifications:
- Master’s Degree in ABA, special education, or related field.
- BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board; and
- At least 5 years of experience as a BCBA in a school or clinical setting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
