SERVER ASSISTANT / FOOD RUNNER
Job Description
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: All FOH Management/Executive & Sous Chef
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Assist servers to ensure that all service staff, dining room and guest needs are met in a fast and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains a presentable appearance and good personal hygiene.
Familiar with and able to describe all menu items.
Sets up station and perform side work according to specifications.
Attends all scheduled staff meetings unless otherwise approved by manager.
Serves and clears plates quickly and efficiently.
Accurately delivers food items to customers.
Keeps tables cleared and manicured throughout meal.
Works together with fellow employees and management to ensure that the customers have the best Big Fin Seafood Kitchen experience possible.
Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a Manager or Chef.
Executes proper coffee, tea and iced tea service.
Executes proper clearing and resetting of all tables in a quiet and timely fashion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Food and beverage knowledge.
English language and professional communication skills.
Able to take direction and work in a team environment.
Able to solve problems, and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
Able to stand and exert fast paced mobility for entire shift.
Ability to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
Effective and professional oral communication skills.
