IPL Leaktite West is a leading manufacturer of pails and other related plastic accessories into America’s major paint and hardware retailers. *Location:* Phoenix, AZ *Job Summary:* The Processor is part of the Production team. You are responsible for all aspects of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and record keeping of all injection molding machines and related equipment. You are also responsible for mold/die changes as needed to meet customer requirements. The duties of a Processor require your hours to be flexible and you may need to be ‘on-call’ as needs arise. *Responsibilities:* · Always follow prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) where required · Install molds on machine according to work order specifications an perform mold changes · Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines · Insert changes to molds · Responsible for molding machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process · Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results · Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times · Address unacceptable production reject levels · Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner · Oversee full-time and temporary assembly and floor employees on weekend shifts · Instructs assembly and floor employees on proper work methods, company policies, procedures and safe work practices · Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling · Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts · Responsible for the continuous operation of production equipment · Work from engineering prints, bill-of-materials (BOMs), drawings, blueprints, electrical/electric schematics, operating instructions, and written and verbal instructions. · Use hand tools, small power tools, electrical hoists, testing equipment, etc. · Plan, layout and perform maintenance and repair operations on state of the art injection molding machines and related equipment including programmable controls. Diagnose problems and determine solutions · Repair/replace various components, switches, sensors, controllers, circuit boards, etc. · Utilize computer diagnostic programming equipment as required · Assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and wire switches: install hydraulics, brackets, etc. · Participate in the development ofthe preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures for the manufacturing business. * Assist with the implementation of 5S processes throughout the company * Create new PM procedures where none exist * Modify existing procedures to improve efficiency * Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes · Maintain documentation and maintenance records for all equipment. · Investigate equipment deficiencies. Make effective recommendations to manager. Implement approved modifications and/or improvements · Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives *Qualifications:* · Analytical skills · Basic electrical and hydraulics skills · Electrical controls troubleshooting · Programming and troubleshooting programmable Logic Controllers · Advanced knowledge of machine, conveyor, and robotic operations · Working knowledge and skills with hand and power tools · General knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer (PC) * MS Office (email, Excel, Word, etc.) * Basic machine shop skills and tools * Basics of injection molding * Mold construction and maintenance * Materials knowledge (plastics, metals, etc.) * Scientific molding methods * Advanced mold design _*Husky Injection Molding Machine knowledge a plus!*_ · Experience working in a fast pace, high change environment with limited supervision: self-starter · Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow-up skills · Must be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner · Possess leadership skills and have the ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our positive and productive work environment *Working Conditions:* · May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. · Moderate to loud noise level – hearing protection required · Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time up to 12 hours. · Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous priority changes and short-notice activity · Being on-call may be required during high production seasons *Schedule: 12 hour Rotating Shift, Week # 1 you work 36 hours, Week # 2 you work 48 hours. * *Hours: Night Shift - 6p.m. to 6:30 am. 30 minute unpaid Lunch. * *You get every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off! This gives you less commute time, more time to plan family activities.
