Job Description
Terrapin Colorado is looking for a Full-Time Retail Associate (Budtender) to join our growing company. Please note that weekend and evening availability is required for this position. As a Colorado based cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the industry. Terrapin Colorado is a cultivator, processor and provider of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products. Terrapin Colorado has grown into a company with over 200 employees, across multiple brands, and our need for a Retail Associate (Budtender) has grown significantly.
Budtenders are the face of the Retail Marijuana Industry that represent the mission and the goals of Terrapin Colorado while providing superior customer service and maintaining a level of product knowledge to meet the needs of the patron, while providing an education on the safe consumption of available products. They are also responsible for knowing the laws that govern a legal sale of marijuana in either a medical or retail setting to ensure that the business is operating within the confines of compliance. They are the last people in the seed-to-sale chain of production who have the task of delivering products while giving the customer the best experience Terrapin Colorado can provide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General Customer Service
- Checks customer/patient ID’s
- Conducts transactions at the register
- Fronts and faces product on shelves
- Stocks products on shelves, which requires bending the body downward at the waist, ascending and descending a step stool, and lifting boxes up to forty pounds
- Remains upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time, up to 88% of the working day
- Moves about on foot to accomplish tasks to meet customer/patient needs
- Helps keep the store clean and tidy, including sweeping and mopping
- Provides customer education about products and uses
- Works with leadership to understand company goals and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to obtain or maintain current state specific cannabis industry credentials such as MED badge
- Is a customer service professional
- Must be organized and maintain a neat and clean workstation
- Must have familiarity with grams vs ounces
- Must be able to perform simple math
- Must be willing to learn about new products and cannabinoids
- Must be aware of and abide by all laws and compliance surrounding retail operations
- Must possess a willingness to learn the effects and applications of concentrates and other THC infused products
- Experience in the use of cannabis and possess a willingness to learn strain genetics including their properties and effects
- Is familiar with Windows and Microsoft Office
- Must be able to operate the point-of-sale system and maintain accurate cash handling practices
- Must have 1 year of cash handling experience
- Must have 1 year of customer service experience
- Must be computer literate
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work

Pay: $18.00 per hour
