About New Mexico Military Institute:NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level and currently developing a new middle school.
Position Under the general supervision of the General Manager, the Assistant Golf Professional must have knowledge of and skill in the game of golf. Must possess the ability to communicate with members and patrons of the golf course effectively. Will be tasked with creating a pleasant environment for the corps of cadets, faculty and staff, and the public who patronize the NMMI golf course. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time position. The salary range for this position is $37,000.00 - $39,000.00 annually. The job description is available upon request.
Tasks:
· Assist In the daily operation of the Golf Shop.
· Collect and reconcile daily cash registers, audit inventory, and set schedules.
· Maintain the Pro Shop, perform public relations activities, maintain inventory and prices, display merchandise, and maintain golf carts.
· Reconcile cash and daily deposits.
· Open and close the golf course, check outdoor and indoor shut-off switches, and lock and secure the golf course.
· Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
· Knowledge and skill of the game of golf.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Skill in oral and written communications.
· Skill in golf tournament operations.
· Skill in point-of-sale computer applications.
· Skill in problem resolution and sound judgment.
Qualifications:
Required:
· High school diploma.
· Ability to complete the PGA/PGM program and maintain active class “A” classification in the PGA of America.
· Computer skills and written and oral communication skills.
Preferred:
· Experience in office administration or related fields.
· One (1) year of progressively responsible golf course experience.
