Main Function
Serves as facility telephone operator. Greets patients and assists with necessary admitting paperwork.

6. Duties
-
Serves as telephone operator for facility; routes incoming calls correctly and takes accurate messages when unable to connect caller to requested party

Greets patients and provides necessary paperwork for completion

Corrects any inaccurate patient information in patient database
-
Notifies appropriate nursing staff that patient is present after patient has completed paperwork
-
Keeps track of and updates patient’s family, patient’s driver, etc.

Protects patient information and ensures compliance with HIPAA
-
Calls appropriate agencies for assistance in case of emergency
-
Performs other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed
9. Billing duties
-
Ensures all co-pays and deductibles are paid at time of admission.
-
Inputs all co-pays and deductible payments into patient database. Provides patient with receipt.
-
Accepts patient payments over the phone.
-
Accepts all payments for anesthesia.
-
Gives all payments to Billing Coordinator for processing.
