Job Summary:
The Faculty Lab Clinical Instructor coordinates and manages the Nursing Department’s skills lab and supports simulation learning experiences. The individual in this position will assure the effective and efficient operation of th lab, assess and provide for meeting program and student needs, and ensure safe and effective use of skills and simulation equipment. The individual will maintain and inventory of supplies, equipment, and learning resources, work with students in skills practice, demonstration, simulation and remedition. This position also involves teaching in the Department of Nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Provides lectures, laboratory instruction, and clinical simulation experience appropriate to the teaching of nursing skills in assigned nursing courses.
- Plans and teaches lab experience for student as assigned.
- Assists in lab simulations, lab testing, and lab maintenance/upgrades.
- Works with faculty and simulation team to create, revise, and update clinical simulation activities in coordination with curriculum objectives and goals.
- Prepares equipment, supplies and physical set-up and break-down for laboratory and simulation activities with students.
- Designs, conducts and debriefs nursing simulations.
- Schedules and maintains remediation and open-lab hours for nursing students.
- Provides feedback to faculty on student performance and attendance in laboratory classes.
- Assists instructors in scheduling laboratory and simulation activities.
- Conducts the inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and assists with the quality control of inventoried items.
- Orders and restocks laboratory.
- Advises leadership regarding laboratory equipment and supplies needed for students.
- Identifies equipment needs, new and/or replacement.
- Provides remediation and evaluation of students with identified skill deficit(s).
Skills:
- Master degree from a regionally accredited academic institution. The degree must be either in the assigned area of education or in an area that directly contributes to the professional assignment.
- Minimum two (2) years recent clinical or educational experience
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing simulation experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $104,104.00 - $133,820.00 per year
