We are looking to hire a compassionate, mission-oriented Board Certified/Board Eligible Family/Internal Medicine Physician. Candidate must be committed to providing quality health care to an indigent and culturally diverse population. Candidate shall establish medical evidence based on the individual's statement of symptoms and medical assessment that includes the results of a physical health examination review of medical history, signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings.
*Flexible scheduling: 15-25 hours per week or full time!
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the primary healthcare team to provide patients with primary medical care services within the standard of care.
- Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options.
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
- Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment.
- Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
- Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate and called for.
- Provide synchronous teleheath visits.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
- Record complete, timely and legible medical records.
- Ensure medical records are legible and complete in a timely manner.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with all employees.
- Adhere to Quality Improvement guidelines and participate in Quality Improvement programs for chronic diseases.
- Supervise Mid-level practitioners as assigned.
- Participate in Provider meetings and QI Meetings as required.
- Provide trainings to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other clinic staff, on periodic basis.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine.
- Looking for providers (DO / MD) with multiple state licenses. Looking for candidates with licensure in at least 20 states.
- Medical Doctor with three 3-5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical.
- BLS Certifications is required.
- Internal Medicine or Family Practice: 5 years (Preferred)
- Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of drugs.
- Prior experience working in community health environment a plus.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise.
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must maintain Continued Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals.
- Ability to observe, to assess, and to record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to supervise, to lead, to advice, and to train clinical professionals, PA's/FNP's and/or students in area of expertise.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic environment.
