We are looking for a professional and dedicated Line Cook to join our dynamic team at our fine dining restaurant and gaming bar for the NIGHT and GRAVEYARD shift. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing an excellent customer dining experience. The ideal candidate will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ability to work in a team in a fast-paced environment is key.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
· Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
· Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
· Answering, reporting and following executive or sous chef’s instructions.
· Ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
· Cleaning up station and taking care of leftover food.
· Stocking inventory appropriately.
· Ensuring that food is top quality and that kitchen is in an excellent sanitary condition.
· Coordinating with other cooks and servers to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
· Complying with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
· Maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
Requirements:
· Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook.
· Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
· Familiar with industry’s best practices.
· Culinary school diploma preferred.
· Understanding and adherence to all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
· Physical endurance to work long hours in a busy kitchen.
