PSW Group is searching for Global Metal Trader to support projects at the corporate office and manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for developing business relationships for the purchase and sale of non-ferrous scrap metal on a global scale. The Global Metal Trader is responsible for managing operations including the buying, processing and selling of non-ferrous high temperature alloy recycled metals for our manufacturing facilities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an enthusiastic Global Metal Trader to join our PSW Group team at our corporate office in Chicago, IL. This position will report to the Director of Purchasing at PSW Group. Other key responsibilities will be:
· Purchasing and selling non-ferrous scrap metals on a global and domestic scale.
· Developing business relationships with domestic and international team members to expand our metal market presence.
· Consulting and advising our domestic and international clients for metal trading solutions regarding market trends, dynamics, pricing, demand, etc.
· Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to coordinate delivery of scrap metal, maintaining accurate records of purchases and addressing discrepancies or issues that arise during the procurement and sales process.
· Traveling and meeting with accounts on-site to determine opportunities.
· Assisting the sales team with additional trading tasks assigned to them.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, but not required.
· 3-5 years of Non-Ferrous metals trading experience preferred, but not required.
· Must be knowledgeable of all aspects associated with international regulations on trading and brokering scrap metal as well as being cognizant of current market conditions to provide an optimum total cost approach.
· Must possess strong oral and written skills; be adept in statistical analysis and market research; and have a strong knowledge of the scrap recycling industry.
· Must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate business as well as possess strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
· Must have the ability to effectively perform both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
· Must have excellent negotiating skills, and established professional relationships implementing procurement and sales strategies with raw materials in the scrap metals industry.
· Linguistic abilities are a huge plus. Being able to read, write and speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese is preferred.
