Rusch Land and Cattle Company is a 25,000+ acre owner-operated, working ranch that breeds, raises and sells approximately 1400 head of Angus cattle annually. Over 12,000 acres are dedicated to crops including corn, sunflowers, canola, Spring and Winter wheat. With its main office located in Hettinger, ND, the ranch includes property spanning across both North and South Dakota.
The ranch also operates a hunting business which includes Castle Butte Lodge, an 8-bedroom hunting lodge that books out for seasonal hunting of pheasant, deer, and antelope.
We’re looking for an energetic professional to join our team who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats. This individual will be expected to take initiative and be highly organized with the ability to work independently with little supervision. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. The office is located seven miles outside Hettinger, ND.
Responsibilities
-Execute general office operations including answering the phone and taking accurate messages, sorting and distributing mail, overseeing accounts and paying bills, typing correspondence, reports, data collection and entry
-Produce and distribute reports to the owner and manager upon request
-Coordinate appointments, and schedules and manage calendars
-Manage filing systems and office supplies, maintain IT infrastructure and track inventory of orders
-Execute payroll for staff including federal and state tax reporting
-Explore and research emerging trends and innovative work systems in the industry to increase productivity and efficiencies
-Manage Castle Butte Lodge hunting reservations, guest experience, and the scheduling of the cleaning services after departures
-Lead employee and staff meetings, work with owner/manager to develop agenda, action items and reports
-Operate office equipment including computers, printers, copiers and tablets
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Highly accurate when managing multiple tasks, priorities, and complex projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of computer technology and systems such as Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and QuickBooks
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and or additional qualification or certification in Office Management or Bookkeeping
Experience with farming operations, livestock, etc.
