Ruhnau Clarke Architects is seeking a dynamic Proposal Manager to join our marketing team to support the firm’s proposal development efforts. Are you a strong communicator? Are you interested in the field of architecture? Do you delight in discovering simple ways to communicate big ideas?
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Experience: FIVE (5) or more years of profressional proposal development in the architecture, construction, or engineering industry required.
Software: Proficient to expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - particularly InDesign, InCopy, and Photoshop; Microsoft Office Suite.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) or more years of professional proposal development in the architecture or engineering industry required.
- Visualization and Storytelling experience required.
- Editorial layout training strongly preferred.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign is required.
- Experience and success working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative, follow-through, researching, and problem-solving ability.
- Client service-oriented.
- An impressive portfolio included with your application showing proposal examples is a MUST.
EXPECTATIONS:
This role develops and produces proposals to TK-12, higher education, municipal and various other client segments across California. This position is responsible for the development and production of persuasive proposals that differentiate and create a competitive advantage for our firm as well as producing related client deliverables. You will work alongside our marketing team to develop client-facing deliverables including proposals, interview decks, and more. The following are the minimum expectations that the Executive Leadership requires of a Proposal Manager:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
- Develop and manage proposals, statements of qualification, and pursuit deliverables from kick-off through to shortlist presentation.
- Coordinate, write, edit, layout, and produce statements of qualification, proposals, interview presentations, and leave behind materials.
- Establish, work to, and manage proposal development calendar to include: Prospective client research; Kick-off; Draft milestones; Final deliverable production; Interview kick-off; Interview deck development; and Leave behind development & production.
- Guide pursuit/proposal team in developing and refining winning strategies and themes, compelling messages, and persuasive differentiators.
- Develop and write persuasive messages based on information from independent research, meetings with proposal team members, and knowledge of organization capabilities and services.
- Consolidate team input into clear and effective responses, write executive summaries and non-technical content, tailor project and resume information to the specific needs of each pursuit and client.
- Collaborate with key proposal team members, graphic designers, and fellow marketers to ensure deliverables meet client needs and RFP/RFQ requirements.
- Provide preliminary and final quality control check of materials, including proofreading for grammar, request for proposal (RFP) compliance, and conformance to proposal strategies and win themes.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to develop visual asset and layout template library that support proposal development.
- Ensure pursuit data is entered into the firm’s proposal tracking system (HubSpot).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
