29 monthly hours in 4 locations (Early Head Start Corona= 7, Head Start Corona= 6, Upper West Side Manhattan= 6, Early Head Start Astoria= 5, and Early Head Start Woodside= 5)
In this role you will:
The dietitian/nutrition intern will provide support and delivery of nutrition support and guidance to the program staff and parents to guarantee that children are served well balanced nutritionist meals and snacks in alignment with the Head Performance Standards and CACFP requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Support the kitchen team in preparing nutritionist meals
- Provide educational activities to the classrooms, staff, children and parents.
- Provide recommendation to menu changes and implement new menu items.
- Provide consultation to parents and staff
- Monitor, review and provide guidance to the nutrition assessment
What qualifications do you need:
- Enrolled in a
- Experience in community nutrition including services to children, ages 0-6 and understanding of Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
- Must register in NYC PassPort
- Must maintain general liability insurance
