Tort Intake Professionals is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position of Medical Record Specialist. As a Medical Record Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assisting plaintiffs involved in mass tort lawsuits who are afflicted with severe medical conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to procure essential medical records from healthcare providers, aiding in the construction of robust legal cases, and facilitating proper compensation for the damages suffered by our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Ordering Medical Records: Utilize your expertise to formally request medical records from various sources including doctor's offices, clinics, and specialists. (minimum 2 years)
2. Navigating Medical Offices: Demonstrate proficiency in engaging with appropriate personnel at medical facilities, ensuring efficient and accurate acquisition of medical records over the phone, via fax and email.
3. Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all correspondence and interactions related to medical record requests, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
4. Communication: Provide timely updates to legal teams, management and clients regarding the status of medical record procurement, fostering transparency and trust throughout the process.
5. Adherence to Legal Standards: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements governing the acquisition and handling of medical records, safeguarding client confidentiality and privacy.
6. Professionalism: Represent Tort Intake Professionals with the utmost professionalism and integrity while liaising with medical professionals, law firms, and clients.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: Prior experience in ordering medical records is essential, preferably within a legal or healthcare setting.
2. Understanding of Medical Record Processes: Possess a strong understanding of the formal procedures involved in ordering medical records from diverse healthcare providers.
3. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with personnel at medical offices over the phone.
4. Organizational Skills: Exhibit strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive medical information.
6. Professionalism: Display a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions, representing Tort Intake Professionals in a positive and reputable manner.
7. CRM Navigation: Ability to navigate various Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems proficiently, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of medical record requests and interactions. Experience with CRM platforms commonly used in legal or healthcare settings is preferred.
