Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, assisting the dentist during procedures when needed, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- if needed, assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for improvement
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Conduct preliminary examinations, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and treatment plans
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills:s
- Knowledge of dental office operations and workflows
- Understanding of imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Ability to maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient records and appointments effectively
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology related to dentistry
