Salary Range: $50,108.92 - $65,767.96.
Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity consideration included an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirement for the job.

Position Summary
Manages and coordinates new and existing programs for the Mecklenburg County Office of Violence Prevention. This position, under supervision of the Program Supervisor, is responsible for supporting and implementing strategies within The Way Forward, Mecklenburg County Community Violence Strategic Plan. Must thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to work with a team to assist in reducing violence in Mecklenburg County. Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills and have a passion for implementing effective community work.
Essential Functions
Coordinates county wide initiatives with a focus on youth and community engagement.
Facilitate relationships between relevant social services programs and community partners.
Facilitate workgroups in relation to all aspects of the development, review, revision and/or implementation of the office’s programs, policies, standards, and guidelines.
Recommend evidence-based initiatives that can improve health and prevent violence at the population level.
Utilize data to support the development of innovative policies, programs, and practices to address violence as a Public Health issue.
Assess the field to identify emerging trends and best practices.
Collaborate with community-based violence prevention organizations to expand reach and education on violence prevention
Collaborate with local school systems to implement youth- focused initiatives
Assist in program evaluation.
Cultivate and sustain necessary community contacts relevant to programs
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of two of experience in public health, health education, policy/planning, or related field.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, or related behavioral science.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
- Ability to obtain and maintain a County Operator's Permit (COP).
