*20 hours per week
General Functions:
Assess, examine, diagnose, and treat patients with mental illness as part of a clinical treatment team. Provide Clinical Supervision and Support to staff providing services to individuals served. Population includes people with mental illness and/or people with co-morbid developmental disability and/or substance abuse disorder.
Specific Functions:
· Complete psychiatric evaluations; initially, annually, and/or as needed.
· Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
· Receive and dispense stock and sample medications.
· Provide medication monitoring services no less than once every 3 months for patients under NP's care.
· Provide prescriptions for psychotropic medications using electronic prescribing methods
· Deliver group/individual psychotherapy services, assessments, and evaluations as needed and approved.
· Participate in family meetings and staffing's, as needed. Provide staff and family consultation around medication and other clinical concerns.
· Complete Tardive Dyskinesia screenings no less than once every 6 months for patients under NP's care.
· Provide consultation on complex cases as requested by the Director of Clinical Services.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nursing staff, psychiatrists, agency support staff, hospitals, family members, and other providers to provide patients with comprehensive care.
· Participate in weekly individual clinical supervision meetings with the supervising psychiatrist as well as additional meetings as required by patient need and/or state regulation.
· Provide emergency consultation services in person or via telephone during business hours and outside of office hours in the event of emergency.
· Work in a harmonious manner with treatment team.
· Exhibits non-judgmental, empathetic and supportive approach when communicating with patients/families and staff.
· Follow State and Federal guidelines in providing care to opioid dependent patients in collaboration with licensed, prescribing physicians and pharmacy.
· Complete appropriate documentation with record keeping.
· Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements.
· Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards.
· Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Illinois as well as a DEA license to prescribe. Full Practice Authority preferred. Experience with persons with serious mental illness, substance use disorders and/or developmental disability is strongly preferred. Driving record and auto insurance coverage in accordance with agency policy. A criminal background check and post-offer physical required. EOE.
