Are you our next great Fleet Manager?
If you enjoy providing support to internal clients to help improve and maintain their fleet needs, we want you to apply today! The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the shop staff and maintaining the fleet of vehicles and equipment, for making equipment available when needed at job sites, and for managing utilization of our fleet of trucks and off-road equipment. Strong hands-on leadership, management, and communication skills are essential.
Highlights of what a Fleet Manager will do, but not limited to:
- Tracking record of profitably of a large fleet; light- and medium-duty trucks and off-road construction equipment.
- Optimizing equipment availability.
- Scheduling, dispatching and transporting fleet.
- Analyzing and explaining equipment downtime and under-utilization.
- Fleeting / De-Fleeting wisely based business plan needs.
- Developing successful implementation plans and programs necessary to increase uptime and utilization.
- Improving the utilization and reduction of operating costs and capital expenditure.
- Track / Manage rental equipment – Accurate invoicing.
- Minimize rental equipment vs house equipment.
- Improving R&M (including vendor selection and cost control).
Are you the right fit for this role?
*Skills & experience that are necessary as a Fleet Manager will include, but not limited to:
- Must possess excellent & effective interpersonal and communication skills to partner cohesively with branch and field employees.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management skills are a must and the ability to work independently and effectively in fast-paced environment to meet deadlines/deliverables.
- Ability to multi-task with strong follow up and negotiation skills in procurement, with the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with external vendors & internal customers.
- Fleet management experience with equipment such as golf carts, mowers, trucks, and trailers are highly preferred.
- Experience with ensuring fleet compliance with state regulations, permits, and licensing.
- Proficient working knowledge in MS office programs and fleet management systems.
- Any other relevant mechanic or industry related certifications will be a plus (ASE)
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time throughout California, Arizona and Nevada to assist with transfers of fleet asset
