Sales Solutions Engineer
About Your Role:
Achieve customer network operational deliverables by designing, engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating plans for current and new technology. This position requires strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills. Experience in Network Engineering, Project management and MS Visio are a must. This is a high touch, client facing position, conveying confidence to those clients in abilities to plan, specify, deploy, support, and maintain infrastructure designs that our clients’ businesses rely on to operate. Translate highly technical ideas/principles into comprehensive/descriptive business language for peer groups, management, clients to effectively assist/resolve issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Experience of working in a customer facing pre-sales role within a Managed service provider
- This individual will primarily be supporting sales efforts in client-facing meetings, calls, and projects, and to develop and lead custom demonstrations.
- Build and manipulate complex Visio diagrams to illustrate design concepts, Be able to whiteboard and design networks designs on demand real-time during a Pre-sales discovery call.
- Responsible for presenting product offerings in a value-driven way to prospects and customers, with the end goal is to instill confidence in the technology and to remove all technical objections in the pre-sale’s efforts.
- To accomplish this, the Solution Engineer must have a strong desire to leverage their technical and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and effectively demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value.
- Supporting the sales team in their campaigns by helping identify, quantify, and capture Spectrotel value proposition and best solution that solves the customer’s challenges.
- Contribute to strategic network plans and reviews; designing effective networks following industry best practice; prepare and completing action plans.
- Maintain and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Ability to learn and a desire to keep up with technology so can have ‘real’ conversations with customers.
- Document Infrastructure design, Develop and deliver professional upgrade proposals.
- Build and demonstrate the many Spectrotel managed platform that align with the customer’s needs.
- Design network environments (either on-premises or in the cloud) for Proof of Concept (PoC) and evaluations.
- Understand customer requirements (including security, scale, and redundancy) to propose a solution that will solve their problems.
- Configuring kit for conferences/shows to emphasis our technology to WOW the audience.
- Delivery of technical presentations and demos to customers and partners
- Ongoing training and education of the Sales team as our technology and products evolve.
Qualification & Required Experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with Fortinet UTM, ZTNA, SASE Solutions
- Conversant with networking applications and security solutions.
- Strong understanding in the following technologies and protocols: RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES
- Good networking skills and capacity to develop good rapport with customers and third parties.
- CCNP level certification or working experience; Previous MSP experience is a must-have
- 3-5 years of network design experience with knowledge of IP networking, switching, and routing.
- Self-driven, teamwork oriented, and good communication skills a must
- 3-to-5-years of experience in designing LAN, WAN, voice, wireless networks. Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and Anti-Virus.
- 3 to 5 years of experience on Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco ISR Routers, Cisco L3 Switches, VPN technology, Wifi Wireless networks.
- Understanding and experience of networking protocols; IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS.
- Experience of E-BGP technology with peering with public ISP carriers.
- Solid experience on all the components involved for a site-to-site IPSEC VPN tunnels
- Experience with encryption and authentication technologies required.
- Deep understanding and experience of Layer 2 Technologies (802.11, VLAN Trunking, Spanning Tree, Stackwise, VLAN Segmentation, Etherchannel)
Qualifications:
- Fortinet Certified Engineer
- Fortinet SDWAN Design
- SDWAN Experience with Meraki, VeloCloud, Bigleaf
- Experience working with OSPF routing.
- Experience migrating away from MPLS networks.
- Experience with Meraki and Fortinet Stack
- Proficiency in building and creating firewall rules and policies.
