Responsibilities:
Our prosthetists are responsible for providing comprehensive prosthetic care while working with other members of the rehabilitation team. This position will fabricate, evaluate, document, maintain patient notes/charts, and deliver the device in order to professionally ensure the quality, fit, and function of each device to achieve successful patient outcomes.
Specific Duties:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine their specific needs and goals
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Design and fabricate custom prosthetic limbs using advanced materials and technologies
- Ensure proper fit and alignment of prosthetic devices through precise measurements and adjustments
- Provide ongoing care and maintenance for prosthetic devices, including repairs and replacements as needed
- Educate patients on the proper use and care of their prosthetic limbs
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in prosthetic technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Prosthetics or a related field
- Certification by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics or CPO (ABC) or Board Eligible
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
-Licensed by State of Ohio for Prosthetics or eligible
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care
- Proficiency in using tools, equipment, and software related to prosthetics fabrication
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assess patient needs accurately
- Post-residency experience is desirable but not required
