HIRING FOR AN EDDA/DENTAL ASSISTANT: YOU MUST HAVE EDDA EXPERIENCE (PREFERABLY IN A PEDIATRIC DENTAL OFFICE)

Duties for our EDDA/Dental Assistant (DA) Include:
- Welcomes all patients and parents
- Schedule appointments
- Treatment Plans
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records; electronic charting
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Knowledge on how to use Open Dental is a plus
- Able to perform sealants
- Cavity Prep; cord packing, bonding, and all other typical EDDA responsibilities
- Able to perform all dental assistant functions
- Will work our General Anesthesia day once per month
Compensation commensurate with experience, qualifications, skill, ability, and performance.
Schedule:
- 8-9 hour shift (approx 24-30 hours/week)
- 3 days per week (every other week rotation of Mon-Wed and Wed-Fri) and 1 day per month for General Anesthesia
Experience:
- Dental assisting and EDDA: 2-3 years minimum (Preferred); 1 year (Required)
- Infection control: 1 year (Required)
- Chairside assisting: 1 year (Required)
- Anatomy knowledge: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Must have a current dental assistant certification
- EDDA certification
- CPR (current)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
