The Directional Drilling Team Member will need to be capable of working in all facets of Directional Drilling, to include Directional Drill Operator, Locator, Mud Technician, Class A CDL driver, and Laborer. This Team Member will be primarily responsible for setup and completion of drilling variable sized pilot holes and pulling back required conduit. This team member will work with the Project Manager, Foreman, and other crew members to complete job requirements from start to finish on projects including digging boring pit, directional boring, pulling back of conduit, pulling product pipe, core drilling and pot holing.

Responsibilities:
- Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required paperwork, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.
- Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site.
- Drive equipment to job site.
- Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.
- Follows specifications for the job and company policies.
- Assist in potholing and remediation.
- Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding machine.
- Confirms with locator/lead the bore path to drill.
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill.
- Drill or locate, following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.
- Communicate with the foreman via radio to confirm the location of the drill head.
- Assist with the installation of proper pulling gear and hook up product.
- Reverse process to install product.
- Assist with all final connections and fittings.
Position Qualifications:
- 1+ years of demonstrated Horizontal Directional Drilling or locating experience preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications).
- Ability to comply with the “Operator’s Manual” for your equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend and follow all quality/safety policies and procedures.
- Self-motivated, safety, quality and production minded.
- Maintain or can obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A, with tanker endorsement).
- Knowledge of underground pot holing preferred.
Prerequisites:
- Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug & alcohol screen.
- Must be able to pass background and pre-employment physical.
- Ability to travel as required.
