Job Description
Responsible daily for imbedding, cutting and staining slides and logging specimens into Laboratory Information System.
Daily performs quality control with documentation of acceptable limits as required by department policy.
Responsible daily, weekly and/or monthly for changing reagents and salutations on tissue processor.
Responsible daily for filing all pathology specimens.
Inventories supplies daily, alerting supervisor of low volume
Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as required.
Additional Job Description
Approved training program in Histology, or equivalent on-the-job related training in Histology. Must be ASCP registered, or registry eligible. Registry eligible individuals are expected to pass their exams within one year. Some experience preferred, but not required.
