The job of student support clerk is done for the purposes of providing secretarial and administrative support to assigned administrative personnel; coordinating and monitoring special education records, files, meetings, testing, activities, and reporting; and providing information, recommendations, and/or direction as may be requested by the assigned administrator.
Job Responsibilities

Maintains a digital and paper-based calendar of all department activities and required meetings.

Facilitate and proctor student testing and evaluations.

Maintains all special education program records in compliance with state and federal guidelines and district policies.

Maintains accurate and complete caseload files, track deadlines for IEPs, and notify staff in advance of deadlines.

Maintains the inventory of all department instructional supplies and student assistive equipment.

Maintains due process paperwork, timelines, and required staff information.

Assists with coordination of student transportation needs for the school year, afterschool programs, weekend programs, and extended year.

Assists with the organization of annual parent/guardian meetings and presentations. Prepare, copy and distribute all necessary paperwork to facilitate IEP meetings.

Assist with annual transition IEPs and the transfer of files from feeder schools and new students.

Assists with DESE reporting and data collection requirements.

Assists with state assessment administration as needed.

Processes submitted IEPs, review for accuracy and compliance including verification of service and required signatures.

Supports in special education projects including coordinating and managing events as requested, i.e. MassPAC.

Knowledge of computer operation, informational systems, and specialized programs used in recording and maintaining district, student, or financial information and records.
