LRE Water is seeking a creative, passionate, and organized Mining Hydrogeologist/ Senior Project Manager to join our growing Mining Services Team. The ideal candidate would have 10-15 years of experience in mining-related hydrogeology and the desire to provide excellent technical support to mining clients in the western U.S. and abroad. This position can be either full or part time and will ideally be located in Nevada or Colorado but other locations considered.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients and be able to effectively prioritize projects and tasks.
- Develop and implement work plans to solve complex problems.
- Delegate tasks to the appropriate technical staff; provide guidance to project teams; clearly communicate expectations and regularly provide constructive feedback to project teams.
- Develop realistic budgets and schedules for projects.
- Write clear and concise reports for internal and external/public audiences.
Technical Leadership
- Provide detail-oriented technical hydrogeology support to clients, projects, and staff.
- Mentor staff in a variety of hydrogeology technical skills such as conceptual model design, aquifer test analysis, groundwater flow modeling, mine dewatering, and water management and disposal.
- Strong technical review, planning, and report writing skills.
- Help the client understand, identify, and formulate problems.
Business Development
- Develop mining-related business in hydrogeology, hydrology, water management, mining geochemistry, mine waste management, pit lake management, and related.
- Engage potential clients in all mining phases, from pre-feasibility and permitting, through operations, and into post closure.
- Present new ideas and/or projects at conferences in a manner that demonstrates LRE Water is a leader in the mine-water resources industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree geological engineering, environmental engineering, geology, hydrology, environmental sciences, or a related field required.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in mining-related hydrogeology.
- Strong, broad, technical skills in hydrogeology including conceptual model design, aquifer test analysis, and some background in groundwater modeling.
- Expertise and experience in geology and mining hydrogeology.
- Solid understanding of porous, fracture, and vadose zone flow.
- Preferred experience in hard-rock, surface and underground mine sites, fracture- and vadose-zone flow expertise, and groundwater flow modeling.

Travel Requirements
This position has the potential for national and international travel.
Total Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000/annually depending upon years of experience and education. Pay is negotiable for a higher level of experience. LRE Water reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range depending on experience. LRE Water also distributes bonuses and 401(k) contributions based on annual company profitability. Employer paid benefits increase total compensation by approximately 20%. Additionally, LRE Water supports training and professional development activities for all staff and offers discretionary bonus opportunities as recognition for performance, earning a professional credential, speaking engagements or publication.
Flexible/Hybrid Work Options:
LRE Water offers a hybrid work environment that promotes flexibility for our employees and encourages work/life balance. This role is a 100% remote opportunity based out of Nevada. Field work may require travel, long field days, weekend work, and night work that will occasionally result in weeks with more than 40-hours of work. Mileage, expenses, and/or per diem paid for work travel.
