Requirements:
- The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Food Science/Technology, or closely related field.
- The qualified candidate must have at least 6 months of experience in a biological technician or food science technician position, or closely related occupation.
- The qualified candidate must also have at least 6 months of experience with all of the following: (a) inspection, verification, and quality control of raw food materials; (b) evaluating finished products for quality assurance; (c) executing environmental monitoring for biosafety, including the health and safety of employees and food products; (d) ensuring food safety plans follow regulatory standards; and (e) maintaining safety and sanitation of equipment.
Position Duties:
- Set up, operate, maintain equipment to ensure food and biosafety standards are met.
- Conduct research including the collection of information and samples for food safety and quality programs, hazard analysis and sanitation processes.
- Use computers and computer-interfaced equipment to study plant environment, raw materials, finished product.
- Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
- Set up, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Clean, maintain, and prepare supplies in work areas.
- Monitor work to ensure compliance with set standards.
- Conduct standardized biological, microbiological, or biochemical tests to evaluate the quality of products.
- Work with senior research team/managers on possible mock recalls and third-party audit planning.
- Position requires domestic travel up to 5% as needed and customary for the occupation.
- Supervise 6 subordinates with the following titles: Quality Assurance Technicians (6).
