- Provides technical expertise in the design and coordination of complex projects for the construction, renovation, and repair of residential client facilities, with a particular emphasis on tribal or school facilities.
- Reviews designs, plans, and specifications for water and sewage (plumbing), HVAC systems, fire suppression, control, and alarm systems, emphasizing experience with facilities of major size and complexity.
- Offers professional consultations on a wide range of difficult problems, including design interfaces, regulatory limitations, and information exchange, especially within tribal or school facility contexts.
- Ensures design excellence and compliance with specifications by reviewing preliminary and final engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates from A/E firms or government agencies.
- Utilizes computer software such as CADD programs and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems and streamline work processes.
- Manages projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property residential quarters facilities from inception to completion, including pre-construction site surveys and as-built drawings, focusing on tribal or school facility needs.
- Provides expert technical assistance and support in mechanical engineering to the organization, emphasizing experience in tribal or school facility environments.
- Assists in analyzing critical path schedules for design and construction projects, prioritizing tribal or school facility requirements.
- Prepares, reviews, and approves project documents including building system designs, estimates, specifications, and bid packages, with a focus on tribal or school facility standards.
- Administers or assists in administering acquisition documents for design, construction, renovation, or repair, ensuring alignment with tribal or school facility guidelines.
- Reviews the adequacy of design, layout, construction, maintenance, or repair of mechanical systems, with a particular focus on heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, plumbing, fire alarms, sprinklers, and controls within tribal or school facilities.
- Performs engineering and project management work to protect life, safety, health, and property, prioritizing the unique needs of tribal or school facilities.
