Job Summary:
The accountant position handles all aspects of accounting for outside clients. This position can include managing all financial transactions from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
· Trains new entry level accountants
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manage all accounting transactions for clients.
· Process payroll and payroll tax payments
· Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
· Reconcile accounts payable, and receivable
· Ensure timely bank payments
· Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
· Bank reconciliations
· Assist clients with business registration/ startup
· Fixed asset management
· Prepare documentation for partner review
· Aid entry level accountants
· Other staff/partner work as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Excellent organizational skills an attention to detail
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
· Ability to function well in a high paced and at times stressful environment
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of related software
Education and Experience:
AAS or BCS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree or three years’ experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolong periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
