Our client, which specializes in Rail Signaling Solutions, is a subsidiary of international Fortune 500 technology company. They are a provider of traffic management, planning, train control, and signaling systems and services. Further, the company's additional business sectors include high speed rail, main lines and freight, mass transit and light rail, computer-based interlocking systems, construction planning, supervision and traffic control, as well as a variety of rail related components.
Our rail client is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Rolling Stock and MSF Equipment Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Position responsibilities:
- Planning of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet train availability for service requirements
- Meet the Key Performance Indicators according to the targets agreed with the Head of Maintenance & Engineering;
- Report on the progress and status of work, identifying potential problem areas and attenuate risks, forecasting opportunities as needed, and provision of the means for timely management actions
- Provide constructability reviews of plans, procedures, work task list and specifications to evaluate scheduled activities and staffing requirements for group and coordinate the availability of requisite equipment, material and suppliers.
- Liaise with the Safety and Environmental Manager, report any relevant issues, and assist in developing and implementation of required corrective actions.
- In coordination with the engineering manager facilitate and enable timely processing of changes and timely release of plans and changes to expedite progress of the work
- Identify problem areas and provide solutions for approval
- Implements and follows-up on procedures and rules for service, repair and maintenance of rolling stock in relation to the technicians.
- Ensuring staff are competent and trained to follow safety and maintenance procedures and instructions
- Ensuring that sufficient materials, hand tools and equipment are on hand for maintenance activities
- Early identification of failure trends that may impact fleet availability
- Ensures that the Rolling Stock maintenance equipment is calibrated in accordance with manufacturers requirements
- Liaison and supervision of supplier’s staff who perform works on the Rolling Stock.
- Preparation of reports as directed by the Rolling Stock and Depot Manager
- Performance appraisals of staff in accordance with HR guidelines.
- Manages the resources assigned to Rolling Stock maintenance section in order to optimize utilization of all resources.
- Identifies training needs for all personnel in the Rolling Stock maintenance section
- Prepares annual and long-range forecasts of all car maintenance operational
- Implements sound employee relations and practices within the parameters of the O&M organization regulations and agreements
- Assists in developing, planning and implementing the department's preventive maintenance, component overhaul and rehabilitation and replacement program.
- Conducts special studies and investigations and acts as a trouble shooter
- Responsible for conducting inspections and acceptance of new trains maintenance
- Perform related duties as requested by the Rolling Stock and Depot Manager.
- Role requires flexibility and efficiently which require midnight shift, shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems.
- Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents and emergency on the power systems and track
