Children of the Rainbow is seeking an experienced and dynamic Parent Coach to be part of a dedicated team of support staff committed to addressing the unique needs and experiences of young children who have faced trauma and adversity, with a focus on serving diverse communities.
Position Overview:
The Parent Coach promotes social and emotional well-being, of parents in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy or who have children ages 0-2 years of age. In support of parents Coaches will implement Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) an evidence-based home-visiting parenting program that partners with parents to support young children exposed to early adversity.
As part of employment Coaches will receive training and certification through The University of Delaware Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-Up program. ABC Parenting trains and supervises home visitors in local communities in implementing ABC with fidelity, equity, and through partnership with children and families most negatively affected by systemic oppression.
Qualifications:
- LMFT/LCSW or intern, RN, Early Childhood Educators with a bachelors degree.
- Experience with home visiting programs preferred.
- Strong understanding of cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
- Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical guidelines, standards of practice, and licensure regulations established by relevant professional organizations and state licensing boards.
- Bilingual and bicultural in English and Spanish preferred.
- Verifiable experience supporting youth and families who are at high-risk for behavioral health conditions in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
