Job Summary:
Are you a skilled Truss & Lumber Sales professional with a proven track record in cultivating business relationships with single, multifamily, and custom home builders? We have an exciting opportunity for a Truss & Lumber Outside Sales Associate to join our team at Associated Truss Co. In this role, you will leverage your existing book of business to drive sales, providing our clients with top-quality truss and lumber solutions. If you have a strong background in sales, a deep understanding of the truss and lumber market, and excellent communication and negotiation skills, we want to hear from you.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and expand relationships with single, multifamily, and custom home builders.
- Leverage your existing book of business to drive truss and lumber sales.
- Stay informed about market trends and customer needs to enhance sales strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.
- Work under the guidance of the sales manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record in Truss & Lumber sales with an existing book of business.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in outside sales.
- Familiarity with the construction industry, particularly single, multifamily, and custom home builders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a focus on exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of truss and lumber products and their applications.
- Skill in analyzing market trends and understanding customer requirements.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary with commission opportunities.
- Flexible working hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, five days per week.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (Required).
- Degree from a 4-year accredited university (Preferred).
- Previous sales experience in lumber and/or trusses.
Work Environment / Physical Activity:
The role involves working in the field, engaging with clients, and occasionally working in an office setting. Physical efforts may include walking, standing for brief periods, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 25 pounds. Occasional travel may be required.
