- Providing patient counseling and fostering a calming atmosphere during examinations and treatments.
- Empowering patients through education on optimal teeth and gum care, and emphasizing the significance of a healthy diet in maintaining excellent oral health.
- Performing X-ray procedures to capture detailed images of teeth.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of dental instruments and equipment
- Expertly removing plaque, cleaning teeth, and actively participating in preventive measures to combat gum disease for optimal oral health.
- Collaborating closely with the dentist to provide comprehensive support across all facets of dental care.
- Remaining proficient of the most recent advancements in dentistry to stay informed and continually enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Collecting medical and dental histories from patients to ensure a thorough understanding of their health background.
- Charting dental conditions based on observations and evaluations
Requirements:
- Graduated from a dental hygiene college or school approved by the board or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Dental Association or its successor agency, if any, or any other dental hygiene program accrediting entity recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Completion of the Dental Hygiene National Board Examination
- Experience performing dental hygiene procedures, such as teeth cleaning, scaling and root planning, and periodontal maintenance.
- Proficient in using dental instruments, including hand and ultrasonic scalers, and be knowledgeable about dental materials and equipment.
